I didn't learn to read at all until I was in First Grade. I was really behind, and getting started just seemed to be a huge struggle for me. However, Mrs. Hufnagel, my first grade teacher was really a miracle worker. She worked with me throughout the school year and once I got started reading, I excelled miraculously. By the end of the school year I could actually start reading some parts of the Harry Potter books.
Ever since then, I have thoroughly loved to read. It has never really seemed like a burden to me, or been frustrating since I first began. I think of reading as time to myself where I can relax and get my mind off of things that cause me stress in my daily life. Besides the fact that sometimes books cause me stress because they're so dramatic.
I'd definitely say that I get into the stories that I read. Even after I finish a book I can never manage to escape my thoughts on alternate endings, what became of the characters, and all the things that I wished the author would have changed.
So in conclusion, I read because it is something that I love to do. It never bores me, annoys me, or gets sick of me. I can't imagine a world without books.
